in amsterdam you want to take it easy. go to stylish cafés, drink fresh mint tea and read or write. don’t rush from one spot to another, it is the perfect get-away city to calm down, explore cultural offerings and get inspired by their great taste of style. i visited amsterdam for several times now and i miss the city and people a lot when i am back home.
the city center is pretty small, so walk around the streets along the canals and enjoy the neighbourhood, my favorite ones are jordaan and muesums district. and i really recommend to visit vondelpark!
check out the vintage and second-hand shops, kiloshop is one i like, it is packed with tons of stuff a vintage-loving-heart desires. at marbles vintage at ferdinand bolstraat you will find beautiful clothes and cool bags. don’t miss their street and vintage markets, they are worth a visit!
last time i was there i booked a street art and history tours with local guides. it was very interesting and you will see things and go to places you normally wouldn’t because they are not listed in common city guides.
unfortunately a lot of buildings with fantastic street art on the walls are teared down because they are constructing new ones. but the good thing about street art is, that we will to spot new ones over time!
